As funny as that sign is to English speakers, I might given the proprietors the benefit of the doubt. "Bere****" is a Hebrew word, meaning "beginning". Perhaps that's what they meant?
Yes, it means "In the beginning" as in the first line in the book of Genesis. Biblical Hebrew often crops up in Evangelical-owned business names as well as for their churches.

....and In Israel when written in Latin characters it is often spelled "Beresheet", just to avoid emberarsement :)
