Hi all, is there anywhere near to LT that I can get either a Samsung, Sony or Toshiba TV? EMB don't deal in them even though the website says that they do.

Roy, you can order off Amazon if the cost on the invoice is $199.99 or less. CPS will deliver it for about 200 pesos per pound to LT. I had 2 TVs delivered this way. If the invoice is $200 or more, you pay some unholy tariff, like 70%.
Thanks for the info. I am reluctant to buy something this big from Amazon just because of the hassle if it's broken or goes wrong. The cost of return would be high :-(

Ok, so I found a place locally that had the size and type I wanted (Comercial de Leon). The size meant that if I bought it from Amazon I would pay tax and have all that hassle, plus if it was broken/damaged the hassle of returns.
I paid over the US price for it, but I am a Brit and we always pay over the US price for anything technology related :-(
Compared to the UK price of the same TV, I paid just a little (5%) over the best price I could find in the UK online.

I know a little late and probably not the answer you were looking for but LG makes a very nice TV. I purchased a 42 inch and a 55 inch here in la rep dom at Plaza Lama and was very pleased with both. Plus LG brand you can find pretty much all over the island.
