Cabarete to Las Terrenas in a local bus or gua gua......

Can I catch a single bus/gua gua from Cabarete to Las Terrenas or are transfers (to other transportation) required?
Which bus/gua gua(s) do I need to catch (and where)? The more detailed the better because I am a novice outside of Santiago and Puerto Plata.

I am looking for a direct option from Cabarete if possible (not a taxi)......Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the response in the other thread....I thought it would be more appropriate to start a new thread and seek all opinions.

In addition to taking multiple guaguas there is a bus, Transportes Las Terenas, that picks up at Janet's once a day. 809-240-5302. Passes at 2 p.m. or so. Call them to confirm

This bus will drop you off right across from Paseo Plaza in Las Terrenas. This is where the tourist area is and walking distance to beach. Price is very reasonable. Probably cost you unders $8usd from Cabarate to LT.

Also:
Papagayo: about 7:45 in Cabarete coming from PP. Cel: 8097496415. Phone them the day before. If you go to Las Terrenas they drop you at the mountainroad to LT and you take another guagua for 20 min thru the mountains (never take the motoconchos).

My wife Manty's nephew Moreno drives the gua gua between here and Puerto Plata and Las Terrenas. He leaves Las Terrenas at 6:00 AM daily, arriving Puerto Plata at 10:30 AM. He turns around at 1:00 PM from POP, arriving Las Terrenas at 5:30. His phone is 829 772 6608, and it's best if you call him the day of the trip to confirm pickup point. It runs seven days a week. We have had several flawless transfers this way. Pro tip: buy the three seats in front for the two of you for more room. It is 300 pesos per person.

Is this Cabarete to Las Terenas transportation info still accurate?

From Puerto Plata to Samana, Transportes Papagayo 1-829-376-8346 or 1-809-749-6415 leaves Puerto Plata Hospital at 6:30 am once a day for Sanchez and Samana and returns from Samana at 2 p.m. They stop in front of Janet's Cabarete and will stop anywhere in Cabarete/Sosua or along the way if you call them (Spanish speaking Salvador). No Web Site, cost approx. 350 RD.

Transporte Las Terenas bus leaves Puerto Plata at 1.30 p.m. and passes Sosua half and hour later and Cabarete 45 minutes later. For Sosua and Cabarete you will have to stand in the main road and flag it down. Look for a bus with Puerto Plata-La Terrenas in the window. Time 3.5 hours, costs about 350 RD. Is Moreno still the driver with phone number 829 772 6608?
