Can one nearby city government sue your company's for garbage collection and sign advertising fees for 7 years, while at the same time you have paid the fees to the legitimate city government. The plaintiff claims they had the right to collect those fees up until a court ruled that they don't have this right. Mind you, they never provided the services they are claiming. Our area was in dispute between the two city governments. Never a dull moment!

This is a dispute between two municipalities about which one has the right to charge for garbage collection. If you have paid, you don't have to pay again.

Jurisdictional disputes happen the world over, not only in the DR.

WHo picked up the garbage? If one city collected the other city's garbage the collecting city should sue the city that got the payment.

We have been paying our garbage from day one but now we are being sued by the other municipality. In any other country the two municipalities would be fighting each other, not go after a tax paying, bill paying, law abiding company.
