How to pick up decent women in DR.
After reading stories from Guys like Isaac or other heart stricken guys who are so desperately looking for the soulmates in DR, I am compelled to help them out with my experiences with DR women. I hope, I can be of some help to you all.
Let me give you guys some tips in understanding and charming Dominican women.
Over the years, I have noticed too many guys simply get taken for ?pendejos? (suckers) for being gentlemen in DR (and all around the world). Let me try to make your lives a bit easier by giving you guys a little help in picking up decent girls in DR.
?Hi, baby, can I buy you a drink?? this stuff only worked in discos in the early 80?s; if you dare say that to anyone here, you will be the laughing stock of the whole group?not to mention, she might just order drinks for everyone on the table (including her boyfriend).
So having said that, lets get started:
First of all, never act or look impatient. Don?t act out of desperation and never talk fast in anxiety. Look and act cool as if you don?t need a girl to cheer you up. Don?t look around too much in any restaurant / bar / disco and don?t try to stare into any girl?s eyes. Dress well (no old jeans and a baseball cap?certainly no shorts). Look around and see how the rest of the people are dressed and then dress accordingly. Girls know about clothing labels and are very conscious of everything that you have on you, including your watch. They watch the way you eat, talk, drink and how you carry yourself. Unlike men (who stare at a cute girl like a hungry dog looking through the window of a meat shop) women check out men very quickly, like an object being scanned in a super market?s checkout counter. They look and scan for exactly what they want.
Women also prefer men who are at least halfway decent looking. Women in DR are not very picky so you don?t have to be Richard Gere to score. If you work out in a gym and have built up the upper body strength, you will be the most desirable when it comes to physical appearance. It helps if you are below 40 yrs of age, in good health and a professional (ex: engineer, doctor, business owner etc).
Dominican girls love extranjeros (foreigner), especially if you are younger looking man. They believe the foreign men treat women with respect and stick to only one woman. Most Dominican girls (that you will come in contact with) would only prefer foreign men. The upper class Dominican society doesn?t really interact with anyone from outside of their social circle (Dominican or not). Those women and men would not prefer getting married with foreigners. They stick to their own class.
Ok, so now lets get to the point:
Contrary to the popular belief: ?women prefer gentlemen?.? The nice guy stuff?. Forget it. Only the older/desperate women with a dozen kids are looking for Mr. nice guy; in reality, the good looking young girls are looking for the bad guy. That?s the bitter truth. Now ask yourself this question: how many times you nice guys have been dumped by a cute girl for a bad guy?who treated them like garbage?
That is the case here, if you treat a young girl with too much respect and play the Mr. nice guy?s role, you will be railroaded. You will be taken in for a sucker. Which mean, you pay for her and for her friends when you take her out. She will never be willing to be with you alone and instead will always invite her friend to go out in a group with you. You will always play the cab driver?s role (picking them up and taking them home); pay for everything and only get a kiss on the cheek. Those types of girls will use you and abuse you to the end limit. They will take your kind gesture for weakness and will capitalize on it. If you would to marry her, you will end up supporting her whole family and work like a dog. So get rid of this Mr. nice guy mentality and get on with the game plan.
Now having said that, I will get to the next stage.
Be nice but always be in control of the situation. Never let the woman get hold of the control on a date. Never let her decide what and where she would like to go. Find your interest in it first then agree on the rest. Ex: if a woman will decide where to go then I can assure you that the place will be very expensive and you will be relieved of a lot of dinero but you will only get a kiss on the cheek in the end. Instead, you choose and guide her through the plans (even boss her around) but in a calm & kindly manner. Never lose your cool.
Women love a guy who is authentically funny (not memorized lines from a movie) but a person who comes up with good lines at the very appropriate time. Ex: I was told that Robert was extremely funny (in a very pleasant way); I am sure this aspect of his personality gets him very far with many women. Am I right, ROB?
Don?t be afraid when you propose something to a woman, if you gitter you are toasted.
Women love a guy who stands with confidence at all times. A man who is not only intelligent but also confident. Don?t talk about world politics or about formula 1 racing. They know nothing about this stuff and will only feel stupid for not understanding your conversation. Stick to the things she wants to talk about but make her laugh when the situation calls for. If she is laughing (but with you and not at you) then you are all set.
When you bring her to your home, always have the place organized and clean. Women love an organized guy. They hate men who drink excessively and live like pigs. You want to impress a woman, take her to your clean / organized home and impress her with your cooking. She will never forget that date. She will mention you to other cute girlfriends and guess what, other girls would also want a piece of you. Professional men are very scarce in Santiago so women would resort to stealing their friend?s boyfriends. What more can a guy ask for in life?.?
Never get into the marriage discussion from the beginning of the relationship. The women would think that you are desperate and will take you for a loser. Always say: ? I need to get to know you better before I will even consider marriage?. Now just enjoy the fun; she will do whatever in her powers to win your heart.
Make her wait and not be available to her everyday. Act like you are busy and unable to see her. You would be surprised when she would end up at your door step to see you out of desperation.

Eat with your mouth close and don?t talk while you are chewing. If you hang out with me, don?t chew ice, it drives me nuts. If you do that, I will tell all the women that you are a homosexual.
In reality, all that is coming from personal experience. If you (politically correct) guys dispute any of the points that I have mentioned, I challenge you to compare your women with mine, in terms of quality and quantity.
I am an average looking guy (going bald) not the most intelligent and not rich in terms of wealth. I am no sex machine and may not be your dream man (ladies) but I make up for my lacking by being myself, honest and original. I must admit, I do have certain advantages over our average gringos; I look santiaguiro but I throw people off with my accent.
