Hello all,

Mine is a much visited question here at dr1.com except that a search does not reveal my exact question.

I have been hearing rumors on the street--probably false--that as of January, 2018, the exit tax for U.S. citizens is now increased. If this turned out to be true, it would not surprise me one bit. My current information tells me that if my stay is > 30 days but < 90 days, that I will pay RD 2,500 to exit.

I have just spent one hour googling in Spanish to find the most recent and official document describing the latest rates and I've had no luck. I don't trust any secondary sources. I want this doc straight from the horse's mouth, in Spanish and, hopefully, dated, from a government migration entity. Can someone provide a URL?

To my dimming memory the last big change in exit taxes was sometime around November two or three years ago. But now that I'm hearing rumors of a change, I must be sure. I have already had attempts to extort money from me at Las Americas--Ha! Ha! They lost!--and if I have to fight again I must have the facts on my side.

Thank you.

Four paragraphs for a simple question. 2500 is correct.
