MEDELLIN, Colombia, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Shareholders of Colombia's airline Aces on Wednesday approved the liquidation of the company due to its unsustainable financial situation, Alberto Maya, a representative of minority shareholders, said.

what about the bogota/ Santo Domingo route Avianca its not doing very well either.

I believe that will be a great opportunity for Aeromar or air Santo Domingo.to take over that route. in order to extend their operations to south america.

If Avianca and Aces could not make it on the route what makes you think either one of the Dominican carriers can survive in that route and that's not counting the through traffic which the Colombian carriers had which the Dominicans won't.

Because Aces had financial problems not with traffic, thats why i think a dominican carrier could do a good job on that route.

How many colombians traveling between both countries or Dominicans for that matter, furthermore the majority of the traffic for the D.R. is northbound to the states however if and only if one of those Dominican carriers can reach an agreement with any European carrier to feed them out of the D.R. then that might be a different story. But as far as just O.N.D. traffic don't count on it stats. are available at DGAC.
