Just wondering if the Dominican gov issue machine readeable passport to its citizens??like alot of countries are doing these days?

By 2004 all passports will be machine readable. The passport office called a tender to choose the provider of the passports.

machine readable passport

I have a blue dominican passports issued on Septmber 2003 and was not digital/machine readable .

On November 28 2004 was repatriated by Hong Kong Immagation according to this new issue.

I doesn't matter...

My passport is hand written!! But all the visas in it are machine readable and that's all they care about... In the US they won't even look at the passport, they go straight to the visa, swipe it and that's all... Never had a problem...
