AC published fares that originate in POP, they didn not have it before, so now it will be a 100% regular service.

Flights will start on NOV 1

AC 1849 POP YYZ 320 1520 1820 *****6* , in DEC 2 flights per week on **3***6*

AC 1809 POP YUL 320 1510 1820 1***5** starting DEC 1

regular flights to PUJ will be operated more frequently. They will also serve LRM and SDQ on regular basis.

Published Info or a Wild Guess?

The current AC schedule shows effective 11/1 on flight a week to POP on Sat (return the same day) and one a week on Sun. to PUJ, also return the same day. They haven't mentioned 2 starting December but it IS AC, so no surprise.

They appear to be no longer the AC Vacations (charter) flights but I would not bet the farm on them being 52 weeks a year. I suspect they are vacation seasonal.

As to your statment they will serve LRM and SDQ on a regular basis, please provide your source as there is no evidence to this effect. Since the demise of Canadian Airlines I would dearly love to have scheduled YYZ to the DR non stop flights without suffering with Transat or Skyservice.

One day a week to the north or east shore is hardly what I'd refer to as regular service unless you are happy with one day a week to choose from , also I cannot see any evidence they will do SDQ or LRM, so how do you know that?

In any event their service is so poor I probably wouldn't use them but there's hope if they have non stop J class seats from here. Whoops.........I spoke too soon - they are using Airbus 320'-200's with 100% coach seating in 3 and 3 configuration (shades of charter airlines) so you cannot fly in business or first class.

One week non refundable is $1,100 CDN, for 11/15-22 ( test date) amazingly enough the same price almost to the penny as American Airlines (Who have more flexibility as to seating and dates).

You would be better off doing air only on a charter flight with, I would suspect, a bill of less than 1/2 of this price.

AC annoys the hell out of us now and this adds nothing to change their reputation.

Interesting Cost details:

Dominican Rep. Arpt. Authority
27.40
Dominican Rep. Arpt. Departure Tax
27.30
Dominican Rep. Arpt. Infra Fee
34.00

There is $91.70 in DR fees (CDN$/ US$ =$68) of which only US$20 is the departure tax and the rest are fees that make ours in Canada look cheap by comparison. Who knew?

AC 1889 LRM YYZ 320 1610 1930 *****6* 20DEC-03APR

I understand that you just typed this info, where did you get it, e.g. the source?

Also LRM isn't SDQ is it?

I suspect 04 APR to 01NOV 2004 the schedule is more like

AC 0000 LRM YYZ 320 Never Never ******* 04APR - 01NOV

Where are the YYZ-LRM flights? If they only fly this one route in one direction they will need 52 planes.

Air Canada arrives at 1515 then departs at 1610 (55 minutes) ? Must be someone else. They haven't mastered turning around planes in under an hour. Ho ho ho.
