Bahamas wants Aerodom to run airport

The government of the Bahamas has contacted Aerodom, the Dominican airports
Consortium, to study the possibility of administering the Nassau airport. Ellis
Perez, communications manager for Aerodom, said that a commission that visited
the country was headed by representatives from the Bahamas Ministry of Public
Works. Perez stressed that the Bahamas government?s interest in a sign of the
quality and efficiency that is found in the management of Dominican airports.
Perez also took the opportunity to deny rumors of Aerodom?s involvement in
luggage theft from Las Americas airport and indicated that, according to the
Varsovia agreement, airlines are solely responsible for guaranteeing the safety
of passenger luggage.
