I am currently doing an international marketing project for college and I am unsure of certain laws and customs in the Dominican Republic. The project is to market a product (which is condoms) in an emerging market. I chose the Dominican Republic, but i am having trouble finding information on how products are taxed in the DR. How would a product such as this be taxed for a DR based firm manufacturing condoms inside the country? Are there any significant barriers to entry in this market? Also is this product (condoms) accepted and used in the Dominican Republic or is it against religious beliefs? Is there a market for this product (if so, who)? I would greatly appreciate any information pertaining to these questions or this project.
