I'm a italian student and I’m doing a research about capacity of Caribbean countries to obtain foreign investments and to offer examples of success of local entrepreneurship.

I'm particularly interested to notice some interesting DR examples (big or small) of human creativity and entrepreneurial capacity.
I think that any government of the world first of all have to help/valorize what already existe.
Some case studies in fact could be taken as examples for other developing countries.

I'd be grateful if you could help me to identify some of those examples.

Regard

Helados Bon - Retailer and wholesaler of ice cream and preserves
Baltimore Dominicana - Food processor
Productos Sosua - Meat processor
Industrias Veganas (Induveca) - Meat processor
Mercasid - Food and consumer products company

In my opinion, the marketing of Dominican brands through export and licensing to the Dominican diaspora has been an innovation of many of the businesses listed by Hillbilly and here.
