I was thinking about buying a 5+ bedroom house in some gated community near the beach and renting out rooms for vacationers. I was wondering if this would be prohibited in gated communities. Thanks in advance!

Each development will have different rules. You need to check with the gated community you are interested in.

Thanks, I'll do some investigating. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a blanket law prohibiting gated communities to run "hoteling" businesses.

in Casa de Campo....

Know of one long time resident who operates a nice bed and breakfast in Casa de Campo. It's been going on for years and even though the house rule is that you can run a business out of your home, is not enforced unless you abuse it.
