I am a dominican that happens to love his country. Because of my vocation I live outside for the past 30 odd years and do not go back very often for the following reasons; Every time I am stopped by dominican immigration for looking like someone or my name is the same as some general they seem to have been looking for since I dont know when. We ( I say we because most times I invite guests to enjoy the beauty of our country and people) are hit for money by every man in uniform ,at the entrance and the departure gates.
I am going this year again, still have my mother and family there and the aprehension overtakes me at times that things will be the same. I cant never be angry, but it makes me very sad ,I am first a dominican and share the blame and my embarrassment in front of our guests. Just wish we could overcome all this and we all will be winners.
