Taxes or Not
There are a lot of people who take the train from Toronto to Montreal since there is an express train that takes under 5 hours. It is about the same price as a plane, which takes an hour. But that hour is in addition to the hour to the Toronto airport, an hour from the Montreal airport to Montreal, an hour in lineups and so on, so at the end it is 4 hours with all sorts of hassle vs. 5 hours with lots of legroom and food and drink, downtown to downtown.
The bus is 4 hours but it is like $5 vs. $80+ taxes and the hassles of getting to the airport, passport control, security , lineups, and so on. Take the Metro, downtown to downtown.
