So what are the odds of meeting a nice "non-working" girls in DR that speaks a little english.

Is it like Thailand? When I was there, there were tons of working girls but it was no problem finding nice girls that just wanted to hang out. For what it's worth, I'm tall,blonde,very fit,American, etc....

I'm not really into the pay-for-play thing(although I realize we all pay one way or another! LOL!) but like going places where it's just easy to meet nice local women. Thanks!

If you are how you claim to be then you'll have no problem with meeting non-working girls all over. They will throw all over you as long as you know how to act and behave like a gentleman. Still, "non-working" girl doesn't mean necessarily "nice girl". There are a LOT of "nice girls" that can be even far more wicked than your average cheap hooker.

In my humble opinion as an American born Dominican, hang out with the locals. Most "nice girls" are home bodies, they don't really "hang-out" that often unless it's with a group of friends or family.

HUH? this is what? what kind of mentallity you guys have in those heads Jesus christ im hoping you are not thinking this is a 99% WHORE COUNTRY in which you can't find a decent girl, and for your info FIT AMERICAN, only Hoochies and prostitutes will trow themselves to any men same rules applies to your hometown.............

I guess you have never been to the DR?

What are the chances of "you" finding "non-working" girls in your hometown?
Use that as your yard stick and you would have answered your own question.

Yes, I am concerned this is a 99% whore country because that is the way it is often portrayed in this(and other) forums. If it is, then I don't want to go there. If you don't like this sort of talk, I suggest you spend your obviously ample time (1,011 posts!) elsewhere instead of jumping people's **** because you're the proud authority on the Male-Female dynamics of DR LOL!

That's a pretty narrow answer as you can go some places and religion,culture,politics,etc.. make it impossible to meet ANYONE! For example, I live in San Francisco. Now, if I use that as the litmus test for meeting people say, in Tehran, I'm probably going to be off the mark a bit, huh?

I'm scratching my head here! people on boards all over the internet and here portray their experiences as a tourist, a point very similiar to all in the region or the world i hope you understand that you will find this sort of behavior in most resort towns in the world, everywhere there is a touristic place; for example (MIAMI BEACH) a touristic place in a first world country (LOTS OF WHORES after 5:00 PM prostitution is very bad there (just an example). My ample time is actually invested in my DOMINICAN business if you do a better search i've been on DR1 for quite a few years and was the only place available to find raw information about the country (READ BETWEEN THE LINES). Hopefully one day you'll come down and enjoy the island.

Well as a local I can tell you that this is definitely not a 99% whore country....of course, if you go to parts where prostitutes live you're probably going to have a hard time findings other types of women. But it's not like everywhere you go here women will jump at the posibility to get your money...that's just the perception of those who have not been here long enough or those who just went to limited places here.

We do have prostitutes here...but what third world country hasn't?? or any other country for that matter?? If you base your ideas of a country on some narrow minded tourist who got what he paid for then you'll have very limited information.

If you aren't a) you won't find any girls who know any English let alone a little, and b) the good girls won't be interested in you anyway, if you cannot even speak to them.

Bone up on the local language if you are going to go to a non-English speaking country and then the odds are pretty good just like where you are.

Using Thailand as an example suggests to me your phobia of working girls is total BS frankly, if you think me so horny and hey GI , want sum boom boom is English you are wrong.

I'm using Thailand as an example because that's the one place I've been where there is rampant prostitution. I'm not going to cite Las Vegas as an example because I've never been there....make sense?!?

I don't mind you being frank, it's the judgement of my question based on um.......nothing that is annoying. Thanks for the help you did provide though.

Apparently he can't help been b!tchy but rest of his post in on target. Without spanish you are going to pretty limited. Only people who have vested interest in you (your money) is going have the patience to communicate with you for long period of times.

What is it you are looking for? Someone to spend time with, go dancing with, take out to dinner...... for the short term... are you looking to meet someone for potential long term?

Are you looking for a girl to show you the country from a local point of view???

Yes there are many many nice girls here! You dont' get to meet them as a tourist! They don't go where you hang out as a general rule. You meet them thru people who actually live here. And, generally speaking, we won't introduce you to nice girls unless we know what you are looking for. Why would we introduce you to our friends????

And for the most part, they have a life and real jobs. They won't be able to just go off with you when you want....

Not gonna get into the crazy bitch session that seems ready to take place, but here's some advice.

1 - Learn Spanish! Buy Pimsleur's CDs and a few text guides. Take a month or two to get somewhat comfortable with basic conversation. Dominican Spanish is not Spanish this is taught, but if you practice what you learn, you should be understandable and able to relate a little. Also, if you don't understand what somewhat is saying, perhaps you can ask them to slow down a bit for you.

2 - Stay clear of Boca Chica & Sosua, and some parts of Santo Domingo & Puerta Plata. Not much hope for normal in those cities. It does exist, I'm sure, but kinda sketchy.

3 - There are plenty of nice available non-pro educated women there. You have a shot at meeting some of these women, but you'll need Spanish. Stay away from tourist traps, you probably won't meet them there. Ask a local where you can go for a decent time, safe and away from tourists. They will help you.

4 - Once your Spanish is decent enough, sign-up with amigos.com, cypercupido.com, or latinamericancupid.com, latinchat.com, etc. and try to meet girls that way. There are college-educated women there who speak decent English and would be happy to meet you. Santiago is a more of a traditional town where many beautiful normal girls live and go to college. Again, Spanish needed. At the least, you'll have a nice friend there to show you around and have dinner with. I've had some pretty positive experiences doing this. Kinda like a screening process.

5 - Use your common sense. If within 3-5 chat convos with a chick, she's asking for money or a cell phone, cut off communication immediately. She's a fraud.

There's much more, but this is a start. Hope this helps.

DR is not all Hookers as already stated.

You live in SF and should be able to hook up with girls in DR just like at home.

Take the advice that has been giving and learn some spanish.

Simply get a functional understanding of the Spanish language, wear nice clothes (not shorts and sandals with crazy flowered shirts) and get off the coast. Then learn and understand the Dominican culture "do's and don'ts". Go inland about a half hour or so and you will meet these serious decent people that you are looking for. Be prepared that serious, decent girls will not go out on a date with you within 2 or 3 days no matter how handsome you look or how much money you may have. Be prepared for a courtship that comes with family escorts if YOU are serious as well. Good luck!

Normal Girls.

Hello.

I've been lurking on the forum for a long time, just reading...thought I'd offer you my own opinion.

Based on experience there are alot of nice normal beautiful girls. Intelligent and with looks to kill. Compared with what I've found in North America, I'd perfer a latina from the DR anyday. You'll find what you look for here. Go to some of the fun bars in Zona Colonial with an open mind or one of the few bookstores and you're bound to find someone. Most of the people i've met (i guess i've been lucky) have been beautiful, exotic and fluent. You'll be amazed at what's out there if you take the blinders off. Half the girls i've known have travelled the world more than I have.

it's funny really, because at first i thought i was in a rat hole, but once i opened myself up i realized it's a whole other world.

my two cents for what it's worth.
