Firing Employees - what are the employers rights?

A friend of mine has a small business here and is making no money therefore wants to get rid of some of his employees. One has been working for him for about 2 1/2 months, another for about 4 months, and one has just quit.

I understand there is some liquidation payable. How much is this, and is this payable if people quit their jobs?

What does he have to do or have set up in order to not get a back lash from some Employee Tribunal, or are things different in this country?

Does anyone have any advice?

All the depends

There you go my friend this is the website to calculate how much
you have to pay to the worker toget rid of them.
This is the Ministery of Work Dominican Rep.

http://www.dominicanrepublic.com/frameset.php3?url=http://www.set.gov.do/

press click on "Continuar" then click again on " Calculo de prestaciones"

Don't forget to print out the details keep copy and make the worker sign
the acceptances make sure to give the at the least 20 notice they you will
pay less. Notice = "Pre-aviso"

Good luck,

Homer
