tourist card: $10 in , $20 out or what now?

I ran a search but haven't stumbled upon the info I want.

Am bringing a bunch of people over for eXtreme Hotels' launch party in Cabarete March 12-18. Putting together a fact file and need to know what the tourist card fees are. Is it still $10 in and $10 out or ???

Its a flat $10.00. There is/was an exit fee payable at the ticket counter but a couple of years ago that exit fee was added on to the price of the ticket home.

Not in all cases: it depends on the airline. The exit tax for everybody - Dominicans and tourists - is US$20. Check with the airline to see whether they include it or not.

Continental counter in Newark Airport charges you $11 ($10 + $1 service fee). If you can buy them at the airport, it is best. That way you can fill it out on the plane and avoid the long line at the Dominican airport plus filling it out in that little tiny space they have for paperwork.
