Myself, Larry, his brother and a friend of mine took a quick trip on the cable car in Puerto Plata on Saturday.

If you haven't been, do it. It's well worth the RD$200 for the views and a walk round the botanical gardens at the top.

It was also the first time I had used my phone to take photos.
I was pleasently surprised how they turned out.

After the cable car, we ended up and Joseph's Bar & Grill in Sosua.

The view across the bay. Great food and a great location.

WOW! AMAZING quality for a camera phone!!!!


My first trip to the DR, Carlos took me and my mom up this cable car...amoung other things. It was BEAUTIFUL. I have taken a few DR visiters here since then. THe cable car always scares me. And the first time we went..it stopped for no apparent reason (that they would tell us) for about 10 minutes...and it was windy and blowing the car a bit.

Never found out why they stopped it half way up...but I know i was terrified :p

The gardens are beautiful too.

HAHAHA! I wasn't laughing then! :nervous:

My mom was a bit amused, and so was Carlos..I was the only scared one.

Must be the same as usual...they all gang up and play jokse on me. :p

The view and the gardens were worth the scare though...lol ;)

I know they are planning to "develop" the botanical garden a little before the tourist season starts in Oct/Nov.
They plan to put small signs up to tell the names of the plants and flowers, where they grow, age etc...
This is actually a good idea. Many tourists wonder of the names of the flowers, what group they belong to..
They also have a plan to rent/lease out the restaurant there.

Never heard of any accidents, and, yes, there are roads to the top.
