Speaking as a gambler, the Dominican Congress needs to pass proposed Law 351 to regulate the installation and operation of slot machines.

Presently, there is no regulation of payoffs in Dominican casinos such as New Jersey and Nevada casinos. It you desire to play slots in D.R. casinos, then you might as well dump your coins into a big bucket and hand it to them. You are not going to win. I have never seen anyone hit a jackpot over $20 dollars in 5 years of perusing the S.D. casinos. No regulation of slot operations = rigged miniscule payouts.

Now, on a morale sense, slot machines should not be installed in colmados and local bars for unsuspecting juveniles, housewifes, and laborers to lose their hard earned pesos. It's manifested temptation for easy money that never materializes, besides a being a factor of corruption. Perhaps the majority of the Dominican people do not play slot machines in bars and colmados. However, I have seen a fair number that do. Most of them end their playing sessions swearing in Spanish and kicking the machine.

I say keep slot machines out of every business establishment that is not a regulated casino. Then again, I am surmising that Dominican casinos are somehow regulated. :tired: Any other positions out there in debate land?

The House (C?mara de Diputados del Congreso Nacional) has approved import tax exoneration for 12.000 slot machines (Tragamonedas) to be installed in betting parlors (Bancas). The bill is now up for Senate vote, and is expected to pass.
