I have a Dominican friend who told me about a book written about the 25 best, or "most important" Dominican families. It gives family histories, and connections between same, and describes how the families arrange all marriages between their families so that none of their money or power slips outside the circle.

Can someone provide me with the name and author of this book, and also where I might either buy or borrow a copy to read? Thanks in advance.

I've tried googling search terms in both English and Spanish, to no avail...I'd be interested in reading this book, as well. Golo?

Maybe the book doesn't exist.

I would find it hard to believe that a book with the subject matter described would be able to find it's way to a publisher in the DR.

GringoCArlos, could you get some more info from your friend?

I think that would be as easy as getting my friend to find and lend me HIS copy.

Sorry, I am hoping someone here will recognize this book. Maybe Hillbilly can ask one of the Ochoas for info, or another of his acquaintences in Santiago.
