fly oil from flies?

I'm sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section but does anyone know wear I can get fly oil for thining hair? My father in law is from New York and he says that I can buy fly oil from New York and it can help my thining hair (he said it was a dominican hair secret). He said that the ingridients are actual flies? Im so curious I had to post this. Does anyone know if this is true and wear I can get it from? Please pardon my ignorance. Thanks.

This forum is as good as any for you posting.

It sounds like the fly oil remedy is another Dominican old wives' tale. I also think you'll have a difficult time finding it in the DR.

I did a quick search on the web and found only a few sites that sell it, and it seemed they were selling it as an antique. I don't know if the product is currently being made.
