Dominican made wind generator
Hello Danduva,
I read the related article at
http://www.dominicantoday.com/app/article.aspx?id=1127
The information given is false.
The price of $1,000 is fiction.
To fabricate and install a support tower
at 100 feet c/w cement foundation, 8" tubular steel and guy wires is
estimated at $2,500 at best not including crane cost.
This wind generator is a vertical axis type. To rate this turbine at 3.5 kw
on a 10 km/h wind, the blade rotor must be 15 feet diameter and 10 feet
high. The cost to built this rotor is approx $3,000.
This wind generator needs to be equipped with a 3.5 kw permanent magnet
alternator and a bridge rectifier charge controller - estimated at $3,750.
Cost summary:
1. Tower $2,500
2. Rotor $3,000
3. Alternator $3,750
total $9,250
The inventor claims a total cost of $1,000
is not true.
El National and Dominican Today should investigate first before publishing
misleading articles about miracle wind turbines, especially vertical axis types.
