DOMINICAN CHILD DIRECT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (DCDAP)
This program seeks Volunteers for assisting and distributing food, clothing, and medicince to poverty striken kids on the streets of Santo Domingo.
What are we?
Direct Assistance Program is geared to providing children with direct access to clothes, food, and medicine. Unlike major charity organizations, we are a direct assistance based task force We are composed of volunteers from many fields of studies, medicine, law, business, etc,. Our task is to assist children on the streets, living off the money they make begging, cleaning shoes, some forced into prostitution, and some used by many Dominicans as house workers. The Task Force, will be composed of groups. These groups will be assigned sectors within the city, there they will work for may weeks. Getting to know that particular part of the city, and building strong relationships with kids in that sector. As the task force works, a weekly progress sheet will be generated. With children?s names, ages, and the assistance they received from the group. As the weeks progress, a portfolio will be put together, analyzing what most of the street kids eat, there health condition, and financial position. It is in the interest of the DCDAP to have a long term plan in establishing a recreational center where kids can come to eat, get clothing, councelling, proper medicine, and used as a shelter. It is also in the interest of DCDAP to have a school in the recreational center where kids can learn to read, and advance themselves. DCDAP is a non profit organization and can also be labeled a non governmental organization as we are not associated with any governmental or financial organization.
