Hotel Bahia View in town of Samana?

My books (Lonely Planet and Rough Guide) describe the "best deal in town", with clean rooms, hot showers and freindly service at a budget price. It's a small (10 - room) retro-looking hotel. It looks perfectly fine online:

Does anyone have any personal experience or advice? We only need one night in Samana before whale-watching and heading on to Las Galeras.

We (two couples) stayed there last year. A room with cable and electricity in May was I beleive $25.00 US. Nice restaurant on the first floor. Clean rooms and a nice veiw out in front of the hotel. I would stay there again.

Hotels with View in town of Samana - Small Budget Lodging in Samana

Sorry to say, but the Hotel Bahia View as "NO MORE VIEW" since they have built the Pueblo Principe Shopping Center in front of it back in 2006.

The town of Samana has a new website online where you will find the information on current Hotels, some of them with "GREAT VIEWS" of Samana Bay and Marina.
