Does anyone know if there is a minimun lot size required to build a house on in the Samana region of the DR? One source told me that a min of 3000 sq meters was required to build one house on. I have been unable to confirm this anywhere. Thanks for your help.

That's like 3/4 an acre. Sounds weird to me.

It MIGHT be the law...for building a 3000sm house.;)

That would be 4.77 tareas which is a very large lot for a house. I'm no expert on the local laws but I find it hard to believe that 3000 square meters are required to build a house. Unless the proposed house is 2,999 square meters hehehe

Wait for the experts to respond but I think someone is feeding you a line for the purpose of selling 3000 square meters to you.

Rick.

Building lot size

We recently acquired 25,000 m2 on Playa Coson
From what I understand we can build on 5% of our property and a minimum
lot must be 2500m2. That means a 125 m2 residential dwelling per lot.
Our lots are all oceanfront and I believe 2nd line lots offer more flexibility.
I have heard various and conflicting requirements in regards to these specs
that have changed many times since acquiring this property.
I am sure that you must commence building no closer than 60 meters from the mid-tide line.
