New Champions Tour event for 2008
Cap Cana, Dominican Republic (Sports Network) - The Champions Tour announced on Friday that a new event will be added to the 2008 docket, emanating from the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at Punta Espada Golf Club in Cap Cana.
The 54-hole tournament is scheduled for April 4-6, 2008 with a purse of $2 million.
"The Cap Cana will be a prestigious addition to our 2008 schedule," said Rick George, Champions Tour president. "The pristine setting combined with the Jack Nicklaus design of the Punta Espada Golf Club and resources and amenities of the Cap Cana Resort will immediately establish The Cap Cana as a premier event on the Champions Tour."
