There used to be a place at Romulo Betancourt 299, in Bella Vista, that would transcribe VHS Hi8 etc., to DVD, for RD$600 and Audio Cassettes to CD for RD$300, I don't know if they're still in business. It's called Comcenter it's in Plaza Madelta telephone 809-508 7735.

This info is about 7 months old but it might be worth a phone call to find out.

Thanks for the information Bryanell. I have a lot of old home movies in SD that I want to transfer but didn't know if I had to bring them back to the US or if I could get them done there. I will try that company when I go in October. Those are pretty good prices. It may save me having to bring them here. They do transfers here for 12-14 cents per foot depending on the quality.
