Inexpensive Hotel on the Malecon?

Hi, I am looking for a reasonable priced hotel on the malecon or within close proximity to same. Reasonable being under 100$ a night US. No, I do not plan on bringing any girls to my room, my wife would kill me. I am told there are smallish hotels all over, but I cannot find many on the net.

just do a seach in DR1 for this hotel and you will find the info on it.

Forget the Intercontinetal
Forget the Melia

Jaragua - check out the marriot website - Can get a Garden room for about $85 USD per day

Maison Gautreaux - 22 room guest house hotel. - Check out their webiste at Hotel Maison Gautreaux... En Santo Domingo, Algo Distinto. email the owner for a reservation at about $40 - $45 USD per day

Hotel Riazor - fairly nice place on ave indepencia - I don't have their webiste, but if you search DR1, you can find details on it - I hear that rates are about $60 USD per day

Hotel Duke Wellington - looks nice from the outside - I have never stayed there. - located on ave indepencia - do a search on DR1 for details on it - I hear that rates are about $50 USD per day.

Do you need a pool, spa, restaurant, casino? - If not, I would recommend the maison gautreaux.
