Continental discussed possible merger with American Airlines

from what ive heard about this..Continental is only tempting United Airlines to negotiate with it by saying that its "discussing" a possible merger with American Airlines. United wants to be bought and after Delta decided to go with Northwest, Continental is just giving United some motivation to merge wit them. i really doubt we'll see American and Continental together i dont think it would be aloud cause it would be an abuse for the competition.

Yeah you should care. Lack of competition raises prices. Your flight to POP will be more expensive. The new airline formed after the merger will stop thinking of making your flying experience nicer and more efficient because they know you will have less choices to get to D R.
