:cool:Greetings Friendly Community!

A new artist, Chana, is allegedly of Dominican origin. The iTunes site (please see excerpt below) has one of her singles as a FREE download. It is far from any of the traditional Dominican sounds. Belongs on Latin-Alternative category, as far as categorizing music is in any way useful. Not a bad effort if you can take it for what it is: young pop music. It is not Dominican music per se, but it is nice to see someone break the mold.
Does anyone know if she's performing any time soon in the US or DR?

thanks,

"La Chana is Rosanna Tavarez, a vocalist and songwriter of Dominican heritage who grew up in New York and Miami. Along the way, she's built up a voracious passion for music, from dance pop to UK alternative bands to underground American indie rock. She flourishes on this cut from her new EP, Manos Arriba. La Duda starts out as a booming dance party cut and gradually morphs into an electronic-tinged alt-pop tune with searing guitars and disco bass-lines." -- from the iTunes Store.
