The Punta Goleta Resort is just outside of Caberete. You can walk to Caberete. It's about a 15 minute walk, but there is quite a bit of traffic on the road. The Punta Goleta has a shuttle bus that leaves every 30 minutes to Caberete and returns so it's very convenient to take the shuttle. Also, I believe they have a shuttle bus to Sosua and back. No charge for the shuttles. The beach is just a two or three minute walk across the street. They have built a very nice crosswalk that goes over the highway making it much safer. At the beach which is very nice, they have a nice restaurant which has hotdogs, burgers, fries, beer, soda etc which is part of your all inclusive.
In my opinion, the Resort has one of the best all inclusives that I have seen. Plus there evening entertainment is also excellent.
Im sure you will enjoy the Punta Goleta.
As for golf, you'll definitely want to play the Playa Grande golf course. It is beauty beyond belief. Im not a golfer, but all my golfing friends who have played the course say it's the best in the world.
There is a casino just outside of Sosua and one in Playa Dorada.
You can gamble to your hearts content. I think the one in Playa Dorada is the nicest, but heck why not try both. The Punta Goleta has cars to rent so you could go that way or by taxi. Believe the casion in Sosua will even pay your taxi fare to their casino, but not home.
