Obtaining an original Marriage Certificate while in Canada

Does anyone know if I can get a new original Marriage Certificate while in Canada? I just found out my husband must have left our Original at the US Embassy when he went for his Visa and I need to renew my passport and legally change my name and they need an original.

I am in Canada right now and can't go to the DR to get one myself because I can't use my passport...any other options available??

Lexi have you tried to call US embassy to see if by chance are holding on to it?

Go via PM to one of the people in whatever area it was where you got married, with all of the data: names, place, dates, cedulas etc, and send some money to have it dug up and produced in the proper format. If it has to be translated then a few more bucks...
It can be done, but you need a friend to do it...
