Martinair will cease flying between Puerto Plata and Amsterdam. After more than 20 years service in this route. Martinair is 100% subsidiary of KLM (AIRFRANCEKLM). Martinair has all the daily flights between Miami and Amsterdam stopped last fall. Martinair remains 3 times per week fly between Punta Cana and Amsterdam.

POP ... pop-ular no more...

Bad news. Seems like tourism is really focussing on the east coast recently. This will bring even more passengers to Jetairfly (1w BRU-POP)

Martinair has financial problems. Their daily flights to Miami is also stopped. This was the only non stop flight between Miami and Amsterdam. Then you already know what time it is.

Martinair does not exist much longer. KLM is 100% owner everything they are trying to structural change, or the company goes as Martinair I can not say.

But we must hope for a better future. We are still heavily in the crisis and that is certainly about 2 a 3 years remain. That means less money for holidays. Is less demand.

Arkefly was also planning for the flights between Amsterdam - Punta Cana / Puerto Plata to stop for this winter 2009/2010. But fortunately it is not so far.
