Government museums in the Colonial City and Plaza de la Cultura will only close on Good Friday, 29 March 2024 during Easter Week. Easter Week is the main domestic vacation week, but many people for economic reasons remain in the cities, and others do so by choice to enjoy the city without traffic jams.

As reported, government museums will remain open at their usual schedule of 10am to 6pm.

Another highlight of Easter in the Colonial City is the presentation of the Good Friday concert by the 100 voices and 35 musicians of the choir of the Santo Domingo Cathedral on 29 March 2024 at 7:30pm. On the program are lyric singers Pura Tayson, Veronica Rodriguez, Eduardo Mejia, Richard Muñoz and Eddison Samuel Feliz. The conductors are maestros Andres Capellan and guest director Rafael Calderon.
