Any Updates on Home Building Materials? Have they (ie, cement, labor, etc) increased?

We built our house in 2015. I bet it would be double now. The Canadian dollar was worth more then too.

Even today you would pay labor here in 1 day what you would pay labor in Canada for one hour.

No, but price can double based on availability of land or houses in a desirable area. Any property in a good area close to or in town in Jarabacoa is 6500 pesos a meter or more. It is currently cheaper to buy a bigger ten-year-old house that to build a lesser one.

Which is why I mentioned location a few times.

Jarabacoa is a very desirable location. Casa Linda, well, not so much anymore

I recall the going rate for Haitian construction labor was 500/day. I now heard the other day it can be up to 1500
Can they tell the time nowadays?
I remember when we were building our house, the Haitians would ask my father in law, in charge of the construction (r.i.p. 10/2023) what time it was at let’s say 5 p.m. he would always say 03:30.
Of course I didn’t agree with his method.

Really? They are selling their villas as fast as they can build them and the wait time has gone way way out.
idk Tom about new homes. I know plenty of folks this last year trying to sell, having a hard time, dropping the asking by 10% at a clip every few months

Aside from that my point was that I'm not so sure about Sosua as the desirable location it once was (as in getting a good market value for sell). Drperson and Bob have very desirable locations, was my og comment
