They are very good for expats buying property, honest, trustworthy and the lawyers all have good or excellent English. Listen very very carefully to their advice, they did give me lots when I first came here, some of which I ignored and to this day I wish I hadn't. They are also good for expats looking to get residency.
I think there are better firms out there for other areas of law, ie commercial, employment, inheritance, tax. It's not that they can't do this type of work, but I personally don't think this is their market and there are other firms who are more specialist in these type of areas. Ask on here for recommendations, many of us have lived here for many years and have good trusted contacts.
As with anything you get what you pay for, so if you use someone's brother's friend who's recently qualified but only wants a few thousand pesos, you may regret doing that.
