There is not much else to add to this. A company is trying to connect Puerto Rico and the DR with a large electricity cable for the DR to sell electricity to Puerto Rico. You know, since the DR has all this extra electricity it doesn’t know what to do with it.

As Luma (PR's electricity company) is a LLC this would make sense for private DR to provide of energy to them.
I see CEPM or CESPM (the generators from the East part of the country) getting involved in this business.

The power company here could not even run underground cables successfully and now someone is going to run an undersea cable with 50 KVolts or more..

Sounds like a great plan.
Read between the lines: this is a PR private company (no intentions from the DR Gov or any private DR company) with the plans to building a electrical submarine cable. This is just a press release from them to potentially attract investors or public interest.

The company itself: https://caribbeantransmission.com/about/

Again, I don't visualize the whole DR grid (for now) to be involved on this.

What a stupid idea. Where are these engineers educated - in a McDonald's play pen?
