Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas received on behalf of the Dominican government a donation of 4,000 coronavirus test kits with their respective reagents for the detection of Covid-19 from the Russian Federation.

In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Relations reported that the arrangements for receiving this contribution were made by the Dominican diplomatic mission in Moscow. The Vice Ministry of Economic Affairs and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Relations (Mirex) has helped coordinate the donation, following an exchange of personal letters between Foreign Minister Vargas and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov.

The Ministry said it is coordinating the transportation of the kits to the Dominican Republic.
