Carlos Pimentel, the Procurement Agency director, says Maxy Montilla, brother of former First Lady Candy Montilla, could legally sell to the state. Companies related to Maxy and Alexander Montilla Sierra, the brothers of the wife of former President Danilo Medina, are under investigation. They sold billions to the state-owned power utilities, EdeNorte, EdeSur, EdeEste and the Rural and Suburban Electrification Unit (UERS). Montilla began to sell to the state when his brother was named minister of the Presidency during the Leonel Fernandez administration (2004-2012).
