The United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic says that as of 20 January 2021, Robert W Thomas, who served as deputy chief of mission since 16 July 2020, is the Charge d’Affaires of the US Embassy after the departure of former ambassador Robin Bernstein.

The embassy says that Thomas will remain in charge of the diplomatic mission until the US government’s appointment of a new ambassador to the Dominican Republic.
