The Dominican Consul in New York, Eligio Jaquez explains that his brother, Antonio Jaquez, is on the payroll of the Dominican consulate in New York because he is giving him a hand while he awaits for his appointment at the United Nations mission. He did not give a date for this to happen. He gave the explanation when interviewed by Anibelca Rosario, Marisol Mendoza, Dary Terrero and Hansel García on Studio 88.5FM radio. The consul said the naming of his brother was “imposed” on him. “The leadership of the party, Neftalí Fuerte, president, and Tom Rodríguez, head of the campaign, who are the two highest ranking people, imposed on me that while the appointment of my brother to the United Nations comes out, my brother, who knows everyone, would be a person who would be extraordinarily useful in what we were doing,” said the consul.
