Román E. Caamaño, director of the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC), says that the Dominican Republic has one of the highest rates of aviation recovery in the world. Caamaño highlighted that the country already has restored flights with 32 international airports.

On a supervisory tour of the Punta Cana International Airport, Caamaño observed that at that terminal alone, the weekly average of flights is already up to 220, with more flights expected to resume in April. Caamaño said this means government efforts are bearing expected fruits.

The Punta Cana airport is currently receiving flights from the United States, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Spain, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Peru, Panama, Argentina and Colombia.
