The Latin Recording Academy announced Dominican merengue singer Milly Quezada will receive the Musical Excellence Award during the week of celebrations of the 22nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards. She will receive the award in a private ceremony on 17 November 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Others receiving the award are Gilberto Santa Rosa, Joaquin Sabina and Fito Paez, Martinho Da Vila, Emmanuel, and father and daughter duo Sheila and Pete Escovedo.

The Latin Grammy Awards ceremony will be aired on Univision on 18 November 2021 from Las Vegas. The nominations will be announced on 28 September 2021.
