Miches’ flagship hotel, the Club Med Playa Esmeralda is open again north of Punta Cana on the east coast, welcoming families back since 19 June 2021. The all-inclusive beach resort reopened after months of shutdown due to Covid-19. This is the second Club Med in the DR to open after the pandemic shut down. The other is the Club Med Punta Cana in southern Punta Cana.

The 335-room Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda had been inaugurated in late 2019 only to have to shut down in March 2020 with the onset of the pandemic.

The hotel is providing its guests with free antigen testing for those returning to the United States. Guests also qualify for the Dominican government Emergency Assistance program that extends through 31 July 2021 covering Covid-19 expenses.
