This Friday, 1 October 2021, a new Guinness record in the preparation and serving of the largest mangú (mashed plantains) will be attempted to be set at The Hudson Restaurant at 348 Dyckman St in Manhattan. From 9am to 7pm, three chefs will participate in the Flavor Fusion Fest, an event open to the general public at the New York City restaurant that has a view of the Washington Bridge and Hudson River. Admission is free, but there is a US$80 ticket price for those who want to taste the mangú and take photos with the chefs.

María Marte, two Michelin stars and celebrity chef; Amilkar Gonell, general manager, executive chef and culinary consultant for Gonell Enterprise; and Pamela Gonell, executive chef and consultant, are the Dominican chefs leading the initiative.
