Dominican Laser sailor Raúl Aguayo was the big winner of the Carib Wind Regatta that took place 21-23 January 2022 in Cabarete, Puerto Plata. Second place went to German world champion sailor Wolfgang Gerz and third place to Mike Matan of the United States.

Esneiry Pérez won in the Radial category for the Dominican Republic, followed by Martin Van Offen of Holland. German sailor Alexandra Weihrauch won in the women’s division.

The event was organized by Carib Wind, a Cabarete-based sailing store and operation with the backing of the Dominican Sailing Federation and the International Laser Class Association (ILCA). There were 24 competitors from seven countries – Holland, United States, Canada, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom and the Dominican Republic.
