The US Embassy announced that the US Department of State has restored the Dominican Republic country status to Level 2. The US Department of State travel advisory tells travelers to “exercise increased caution in the Dominican Republic due to Covid-19.” Covid-19 cases are down to a 7-day average of 49 cases and there have been no deaths over three weeks, at the time of the upgrading.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says it has issued a Level 2 Travel Health Notice for the Dominican Republic, indicating a moderate level of Covid-19 in the country.

On 21 March, the US Embassy had upgraded the travel advisory to Level 3: Reconsider Travel from Level 4: Do Not Travel that was issued on 31 January as Omicron did the rounds in the Dominican Republic.
