Preliminary police and media reports are of seven people dead and five injured in the crash landing of a small plane on Wednesday, 20 April 2022 before 4pm on a busy street in Carrefour, on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince. Those on board the plane died, the driver of the truck with which it collided and a passing motorcyclist. Five passengers in the truck were injured.
The Dominican pilot was identified as Amado R. Gutierrez, as reported in Le Nouvelliste newspaper. The pilot survived the crash, but died later at the hospital where he was taken. The newspaper reported that Gutierrez was carrying an identification card of the Dominican pilot academy Entrenamientos Aeronáuticos Las Américas (Enalas).
