The American narrator of the 4x400m mixed relay was confident the US would take the race. But as it advanced, to his surprise, he had to acknowledge nothing is certain until the last second. Dominican Republic’s Fiordaliza Cofil would close for gold.

The World Track and Field Championships are happening in Eugene, Oregon. As occurred during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where the team placed second, the women runners made the difference in the outcome of the race.

This year, Lidio Marte, Marileidy Paulino, Alexander Ogando, and Fiordaliza Cofil got the job done. Holland came in second and the United States was third with legendary Allison Felix’s closing the race for her announced last time for the US team.
